										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The course of maintenance of medium and high voltage rotating electrical machines, held by Hara Engenharia in partnership with Nishi, is with registrations open for the class that will be held from <strong>October 2nd to 6th</strong>, 2023 in Londrina-PR. The course aims to present and discuss the problems of operation and maintenance of rotating electrical machines, going through specification, manufacturing process, failure mechanism, off and on-line tests, inspections in each vital part of the generator, mainly stator and rotor. Instructor Takao Paulo Hara is a consultant in the area of operation and maintenance of rotating electrical machines and conducts research in the area of materials and repair techniques for rotating electrical machines. Hundreds of engineers, technicians, production and maintenance supervisors have already participated in this course, whose mission is to operate and maintain rotating electrical machines (motors and generators) maximizing availability and reliability with adequate costs, respecting the health and safety of employees and also the company&#8217;s environment.</p>
<p>PROGRAM:</p>
<ul>
<li>Review Theory of rotating electrical machines;</li>
<li>Technology and state of the art of rotating electrical machines;</li>
<li>Stator failure mechanism and repair. In each mechanism, the process, root cause is discussed,<br />
symptoms and remedies are discussed;</li>
<li>Rotor failure mechanism and repair. In each mechanism, the process, root cause, symptoms and<br />
symptoms and remedies are discussed;</li>
<li>Mechanism of core lamina insulation failure. In each mechanism, the process is discussed,<br />
root cause, symptoms and remedies are discussed;</li>
<li>General principles of testing and monitoring;</li>
<li>Off-line testing of the rotor and stator windings. In each test, theory and purpose are discussed,<br />
method and interpretation are discussed;</li>
<li>Online testing or monitoring of the rotor and stator winding. In each test or monitoring,<br />
principles and interpretation are discussed;</li>
<li>Core tests. In each test, theory and purpose, method and interpretation, test<br />

<li>Factory and field acceptance tests of new winding. Pre-qualification tests are discussed,<br />
factory and field tests of rotor, stator and core windings are discussed;</li>
<li>Maintenance strategies. Maintenance options (corrective, preventive and predictive) and inspection for various<br />
and inspection for various rotating electrical machines.</li>
</ul>
<p>PRACTICAL EXERCISES:</p>
<p>During the course practical exercises may be conducted with the problems brought by the participants. Therefore, students should bring problems that they have experienced and that have not yet been adequately solved in their company. Some tests will also be performed on insulation systems and/or winding of medium or high voltage motor/generator with a workload of 04 hours.</p>

The case study was carried out in conjunction with PETROBRAS and HARA ENGENHARIA. The presentation was conducted by engineer Giovani Adriano from NISHI.</p>
<p>Endwinding vibrations is a failure mode that is becoming recurrent in large turbogenerators, especially those manufactured since the last two decades. This problem is not unique to one manufacturer and affects most of them, and may be related to market competitiveness and the need to reduce manufacturing costs. One of the parts affected by these cost reductions are the endwinding, which have suffered modifications in the old and consolidated fastening systems that did not present such problems.</p>
<p>Combining the problems in the design/manufacturing with the generator&#8217;s operating conditions, this problem can lead to major failures/losses, in the most severe cases, lead to short circuit of the winding and consequent need for rewinding of the stator. Besides the clear losses with the sending of the generator for maintenance, there is also the high loss in energy production due to the inability to operate the machine. Thus, the identification of problems related to vibration in the endwinding should be found as soon as possible.</p>
<p>By performing inspections, associated with periodic tests on the endwinding, failures and the most serious scenario can be avoided and as will be demonstrated in this article, by performing the bump test and the correct interpretation of its results, it is possible to identify the regions with endwinding vibration problem and perform the appropriate and timely corrections.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hara engineering is with registrations open for the second class of the course of maintenance of rotating electrical machines of medium and high voltage in 2020. The course is conducted in person, with the support of the company NISHI. In November an edition was held with limited vacancies due to health restrictions. It will be held from 12/07/2020 to 12/11/2020 in Londrina-PR. During the course, practical exercises are performed, with tests in insulation systems. Students will be able to present problems experienced with the maintenance of electrical machines that have not yet found appropriate solutions.</p>

<li>General principles of testing and monitoring;</li>
<li>Off-line testing of the rotor winding and stator;</li>
<li>Testing or online monitoring of the rotor winding and stator;</li>
<li>Core tests;</li>
<li>Factory and field acceptance tests of new winding. Pre-qualification tests, factory and field tests of rotor windings, stator and core are discussed;</li>
<li>Maintenance strategies. Maintenance options (corrective, preventive, and predictive) and inspection for various rotating electrical machines are discussed.</li>
